Jerry earned his degree with double majors in Accounting and Finance from Indiana University, Bloomington.

Upon graduation, Jerry began his career as the controller of a construction company. He automated their accounting and payroll process allowing the firm to increase efficiencies and profits since they could operate with real time information.

Jerry next worked for a regional accounting firm. During his eight year tenure he worked with a variety of business professionals and individuals. The experience gained from working hand in hand with business owners and managers provided Jerry with the insight and understanding as to the unique challenges they face.

In June of 2005, Jerry formed Brawley & Associates, PC. Brawley & Associates guiding principle is to personalize the service provided to clients. All clients are important and deserve the best service.

Jerry has been recognized as a Quick Books Pro Advisor since 1998. He is a member of the National Society of Accountants and is involved with the Greater Greenwood Chamber of Commerce, the Greenwood Chapter of Sertoma, and the Indiana CPA Society. Jerry also holds the designation as a Chartered Global Management Accountant.

Chris Verstijnen

Chris earned his Bachelor of Science in Business with an accounting major and finance minor from Indiana University - Purdue University at Indianapolis in May of 1999.  He joined Brawley & Associates, PC in January of 2007 and acquired his CPA designation in December of the same year.  As of 2022, Chris has 24 years of experience in accounting and tax preparation.

Chris previously worked in the accounting departments for two major healthcare organizations where he was involved in the start up of two new suburban hospitals and an accounting software system.  He has also previously spent time with three other local accounting firms where he performed both financial and compliance audits.  He is knowledgeable in all aspects of small business accounting/consulting and business/personal tax preparation, including the use of various tax and bookkeeping software programs.

Jackie Meurer

Jackie Meurer

Jackie has 30 plus years of experience working for the Internal Revenue Service. While at the Internal Revenue Service she earned the distinction of being an Enrolled Agent. Being an Enrolled Agent allows her to represent individuals and companies in front of the IRS.

For five of her years at the Internal Revenue Service, Jackie was employed in the Financial Crimes Department of Justice (FinCEN). This department is involved with Title 31, covering Bank Secrecy, Money Laundering and the US Patriot Act. Jackie is capable of conducting independent audits in regards to Title 31. She also provides independent reviews to assist companies in monitoring and maintaining their Money Service Business (MSB). Plus, Jackie performs Tax Preparations and Audits for businesses.

April earned her bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a Minor in Computer Applications from Ball State University.

Upon graduation, April began her career as an Auditor at a regional accounting firm. During her time there, she performed financial statement audits in a variety of industries: HUD, Not-for-profit, Manufacturing, and Continuing Care/Retirement Communities. She also performed Compilations and Reviews of financial statements with client provided financial information, including disclosures for third party lenders, investors, and management.

After 4 years at the accounting firm, April transitioned into corporate accounting for 10+ years, working at a variety of companies including small business, manufacturing and a publicly traded company.  Her experience at these companies include, payroll, bookkeeping, inventory, month end and year end closings.  In addition to the accounting functions, April performed training sessions and assisted in creating new procedures and accounting processes.

April joined Brawley & Associates, PC part-time to assist during tax seasons in 2014.  She received her CPA in April of 2016 and began working full time at Brawley in mid-2017.  She manages our bookkeeping clients and prepares individual, partnership, corporations and not-for-profit tax returns.  April also has considerable experience with Quickbooks Desktop and Quickbooks Online.

Danna Johanningsmeier

Danna Johanningsmeier

Danna is a payroll administrator at Brawley and Associates.

She was born and raised in Oklahoma and attended Cosmetology School after graduating from High School.   She worked as a cosmetologist for a few years and then joined the US Army and was enlisted for four years.  During her time in the Army she met her best friend and love of her life and they were married not long after returning from Desert Storm.  She spent the next few 16 years being an Army wife traveling around the US and Europe and raising two daughters.  In 2008 her husband retired from the Army in his home state of Indiana and they settled down to continue raising their family.  Danna worked as a processor for the Indiana Excise Police for 10 years before taking her position with Brawley and Associates.  

Her hobbies include golfing, traveling, and spending time with her daughters and family.

Shelley Hall

Shelley Hall

Shelley earned her education degree from IUPUI.  She taught 3rd grade at Southwest Elementary in Greenwood, Indiana for 25 years.  She retired from her career in education in 2020.  

Shelley started working as a receptionist at Brawley & Associates in July 2021.
